Albert Bausch studied business economics at Tilburg University. He applied his specialization, customer satisfaction management, within the banking organisation S.W.I.F.T. in Brussels and within the former family company Bausch Datacom. In this company he was responsible for the internet department in 1994/1995 and co-founder of Infoboard, one of the first internet service providers in Belgium and the Netherlands, later acquired by Wanadoo).
In 1997 Albert and his brother Alex started the internet consultancy firm i-Concept, and advised customers like GE Information Services, KPN Multimedia, AT&T Unisource and the Ministry of Education about inter/intranet technology and e-learning in particular.
During 1999 the focus shifted towards the development and support of internet concepts and following low barrier e-HRM applications: e-Recruitment: Arbeidsmarkt.com (Dutch jobsite) and eWork.nl (e-business jobs & projects).
